AHN FORBES CANCER CENTER PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
Construction of the new $35 million, 63,000 square-foot facility began in February and opened for operations in February 2019.
Infusion bays for the Cancer Center's were custom designed to provide a uniquely open and comfortable feel for patients and their loved ones. Consideration were made to allow for lots of natural light and high staff/patient visibility.
Programming flow and design functionality were of the utmost importance when creating the space.
The completed space was a huge hit with staff and patients, due to added patient privacy, comforting feel, open layout and high patient/staff visibility.
Allegheny Health Network’s new Cancer and Imaging Center at Forbes Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility providing world-class care for Monroeville residents and its neighboring communities.
”We want patients to be able to walk in and proceed directly to the treatment area, so they are able to return to the comfort of their home as soon as possible” Dr. Rubino, Forbes Hospital President states.
Design layout and function were thoroughly tested before finalizing plans.
